  • Add an examples directory with subdirs for examples.
  • Add a makefile to build all examples as part of the dailybuild
  • Add examples to dists

Postponed. This would slow down 1.8 too much, as adding stuff to the dailybuild is always painful. We should refer people more clearly to the user list, which can help in getting pretty much anything to run.

2.0 has Examples/Simple and Examples/Tutorial, the former can be built standalone and as part of the library build.
